AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Housing is the single biggest issue facing our district. (I don’t need to share the stats, you’re intimately acquainted with the stories/individuals behind them.)

There is no easy fix; it will require all the tools in the box, including but not limited to

  • a local option transfer fee

  • revising outdated/ discriminatory zoning

  • reclaiming inventory lost to short-term rentals

  • creating new inventory (converting existing buildings whenever possible to minimize environmental impact)

These issues are my bread and butter. Let me bring that expertise to the negotiation table on your behalf!

Coastal Resiliency

Between May and September, nearly 6 million tourists make their way to the Cape & Islands for clean air, white sand beaches, biologically diverse wetlands, succulent seafood, working waterfronts. All these resources (the foundation of our economy!) are under significant threat!  It’s time for us to:

  • Think smart about erosion and sea-level rise. (No more band aid fixes!)

  • Tackle wastewater head-on

  • Walk back the declining health of our coastal ponds.

Mental Health

I am no stranger to profound loss and struggle.

I believe that mental health care is a fundamental human right (not a luxury!) It is my mission to ensure that every member of our community is able to access these services regardless of geography or circumstance.
