    Full Bio

My name is Arielle Faria, and this region has been my haven since childhood. Here, my family has upheld cherished seasonal traditions for generations—bike rides through Oak Bluffs, visiting friends on Nantucket, and eating delicious treats in Falmouth. These memories form the very essence of my upbringing.

Never did I imagine I’d find myself running for public office. My life’s focus has revolved around being a devoted mom to my two children, Miles and Christian, engaging in public service through housing initiatives, serving on boards, and nurturing my passions as a small business owner and artist.

After graduating high school in '98, I pursued my love for music at Berklee College of Music. I was determined to not only create art but also make a positive impact on society. My journey began as a Direct Lending Specialist, assisting first-time homebuyers in achieving a slice of the American dream.

With the birth of my second son, I co-founded Hayes Design Studios, striving for a work-life balance that allowed me to nurture my young children while building our business from scratch. This experience deepened my understanding of the struggles businesses face and the unique challenges each one encounters.

When my children reached school age, I joined the Town of Edgartown, focusing on housing affordability and municipal infrastructure. Starting as the administrator for the Affordable Housing Committee and Trust, my role evolved into Affordable Housing Manager. Through this, I developed a fervent passion for assisting people in finding solutions to the growing housing crisis.

Over the years, I expanded my involvement in housing advocacy, co-chairing the initiative to establish a Housing Bank and collaborating with local and state officials to pass legislation aimed at easing the housing burden for first-time homebuyers, seniors, and veterans.

In 2021, tragedy struck with the loss of my baby brother, propelling me to deepen my commitment to my children’s future and public service. Now, I’m running for State Representative, with goals to lower costs, combat climate change, and champion education funding.

Currently residing in West Tisbury, I find joy in being a basketball mom, nurturing my garden, expressing myself through painting, cooking up culinary delights, and engaging in music and dance performances.
